Daughter of William Allison Carpenter and Clarisa Bird Fegett. Married William Clarence Nelson on 28 Nov 1931 in Bonham, Fannin Co., TX. They had 7 children--6 sons and 1 daughter.

BONHAM--Services for Opal Lucille Nelson, 89, of Bonham will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in Wise Funeral Home Chapel in Bonham. She died Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2001, at IHS of Bonham (formerly Seven Oaks Care Center).
Officiating will be Wayne Johnson, pastor of Ector Church of Christ, and the Rev. Cody Nelson, grandson and youth minister of East Baptist Church in Denison. Burial will follow in Gober Cemetery in Gober, Texas.
Surviving are her husband, William Clarence Nelson Sr. of Bonham; sons, W.C. "Dub" Nelson Jr of Ovilla, David Nelson and Michael Nelson, both of the Boyd community,and Larry Nelson of Palestine; daughter, Charlotte Grooms of Paris; sisters, Lella Onstott of Garland and Wynell Crick of Comanche; 15 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
The family will be at the funeral chapel from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
