Maude Elizabeth Attebery, 78, Weiser, died Saturday evening at the Weiser Convalescent
Center.
She was born Aug. 4, 1897, in Missouri, the daughter of Marshall C. and Clara Chambers
Brown.
In 1900, she moved by covered wagon with her parents, from Missouri to Idaho, where they
settled in the upper Mann Creek area.
She was married to Henry Attebery, Feb. 24, 1918, at the home of her parents on Mann
Creek.
Following their marriage, the couple lived on Mann Creek where they ranched until 1940.
In 1942, Mr. Attebery was employed by the Independent Meat Market in Weiser. When he
retired in 1956, the couple moved to California where they lived until Mr. Attebery died
in 1959, and Mrs. Attebery returned to Weiser.
Mrs. Attebery was a member of the Advent Christian Church, and a member of the Ladies
Auxiliary of the American Legion, World War 1 Barracks.
Mrs. Attebery is survived by a son, Earl, Payette; two daughters, Mrs. Floyd (Freida)
Strong, Weiser and Mrs. Douglas (LaVerne) Weitzel, Hermiston, Ore.
Other survivors include 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and three nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Attebery will be conducted at 2 p. m. Tuesday at the Northam
Jones Chapel with Mardell Williamson of the Weiser Advent Christian Church officiating.
Interment will follow at Hillcrest.
