Died at 7 a.m. Saturday, July 17, 1982 at East Ascension General Hospital. He was a native and resident of Galvez. He was a retired painter and a member of Local 720. Visiting at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales. Monday from 8 a.m. until religious services at 10 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Louis Sullivan. Burial in the Mt. Zion Cemetery. Survived by his wife , Melba Inman Roddy; three daughters, Cheryl Mae, Lisa Faye and Rachel Darlene Roddy, all of Galvez; three sons, Henry Roddy, Denham Springs, Richard Norman and Lucas James Roddy, both of Galvez; four sisters, Ida Bertie Roddy, Galvez, Regina Gore, Channelview, Texas, Lucille Cedotal and Mary Martha Cleveland, both of Baton Rouge; a step sister, I.E. Coach, Denham Springs; six brothers, Richard Jr., John T., and Sidney Roddy, all of Galvez, Bobby Ray Roddy, Prairiville, Roy Dempsis, French Settlement, and Mitchell Roddy, Lake. Preceded in death by his first wife, Helen Roddy; a brother, William T. Roddy; a half brother, Jessie James Roddy; and parents Mr. And Mrs. Richard Roddy Sr.
