Dorothy Lee Scott, 80, of Thomas, died Friday, Feb. 27, at the Garrett County Memorial Hospital.

She was born Feb. 9, 1929, in Kempton, Md., a daughter of the late Elmer Gay Plum and Nellie Mae Nestor Plum.

Her husband, Samuel Edward Scott, preceded her in death in 1990.

She is survived by four sons, Edward (and Becky) Scott of Wheeling, Steve (and Linda) Scott of Hambleton, Dave (and Patti) Scott of Davis and Randy (and Donna) Scott of Moundsville: one daughter, Nell Ann Scott of Thomas; four brothers, Walt Plum of Tunnelton, Jack Plum of Hambleton, Elmer Plum of St. George and John Plum of Elkins; two sisters, Elma Jean Poaloane of Ohio and Barbara Teets of Virginia; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Dave and Robert Plum; and one sister, Helen Ours.

Dorothy retired from the Davis Center where she had been employed as a cook. She was a member of OES Walter Chapter No. 73 and she enjoyed bowling, sewing and cooking. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and sister.

Friends will be received at Hinkle Funeral Home Sunday, March 1, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the hour of service. Funeral services will be officiated by the Rev. Pam Scott. Interment will follow in Davis Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in memory of Dorothy be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, Ill. 60601 or online at www.alz.org. The Hinkle Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. From 28 Feb 2009.
