Florence Crenshaw Spaulding died in Fruitland, Washington the evening of September 16, 1928, after a four-year bout with breast cancer and was buried in the Greenwood Cemetery on September 18, 1928.

Florence was born in San Joaquin Township (Sacramento County), California on March 1, 1880, to Leonard Crenshaw and Maria Mary James. At age 17, she married Alonzo George “Lon” Spaulding on March 11, 1897, in Spokane, Washington. On their family farm east of Fruitland, they raised cattle, grain, hay and vegetables. They had one son Ervin Leonard Spaulding.

Florence was survived by her brothers Hank and Curtis Crenshaw and sisters Lulu Cogeshall and Minnie Mohr. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and a brother.
