Buenaventura Espinoza was born in Florence, Arizona in 1896. Buenaventura is survived by his three sons Robert, "Benny" and George Espinoza,his grandchildren: Michelle, Margarita, Jovi-Ann, Ann Marie, Adelita, George and Eric Enoch. There are also 9 great grandchildren.

Buenaventura lived most of his life in Arizona. He was a member of one of the founding families of Florence Arizona and was a rancher owning one of the largest ranches in the region.

He was a descendant of the founders of Texas and California. He was also descended from some of the most prominent families of Europe and the New World. His father was Jesus "Pachu" Espinosa who was born in California. His father's family was from California and descended from the Californios who founded California for the Spanish Crown owned land and ranched California.

His mother Dona Maria Trevino who was born in San Luis Obispo, California came from the Trevinos whose ancestors founded Texas. Her line connects descends down multiple times from some of the leading families in the New World and Europe. Her family owned the Spanish Land Grant called the "SAN MARTIN" land grant and were hidalgos therefore the title reference Don/Dona was inherited by all of her descendants as it was from her father and his father before him. Her father was Don Antonio Trevino son of Don Jose Anastacio Trevino and Dona Maria Ignacia Balli De Le Garza Falcon who descended from Commander Don Alfonso Ruiz De Temino and Dona Sancha de Lacarra the granddaughter of the I lord of Nieva de Cameros.
