Alice L. Abbett, 82, of Tuscumbia died Wednesday (Nov. 1, 1989) at the Miller County Nursing Home. She was born March 11, 1907, the daughter of Bismark and Florence McDonald Nixdorf. She was married December 31, 1929, at Tuscumbia to Herman Abbett who preceded her in death Jan. 17, 1989.
She lived in Miller County most of her life and was a member of the Tuscumbia Christian Church. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include: one son, James Abbett of Cameron; one brother, Ralph Nixdorf of Hemett, California; three sisters, Irene Crismon of Eldon, Minnie Smith of Grand Junction Colorado, and Helen Gillfillan of Fontana, California; six grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday at the Stevinson-Mossman Funeral Home in Iberia with Brother Gene Edwards officiating. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Tuscumbia. Memorial Contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
