Info. from FAG member Cherie Officer, Olean (NY) Times Herald, July 5, 1946, Page 5, July 8, 1946 Page 4, the 1905 NY census and other sources. Glen was the son of Daniel and Lettie (Chapin) Acre. On June 24, 1904 at Washington, DC., he married Grace E. Slater. NOTE: Slater was her maiden name; She had a previous marriage to a "Nevins" and she had a daughter Ethel (Nevins) Warren(born Aug. 22, 1895) with him. He possibly died(?) and then she married Glen. They resided in Smethport, and Farmers Valley, PA., before locating to Olean, NY. He was employed by the Conklin Wagon Works and the City of Olean, NY., Water Dept. They moved to Portville, NY in 1934 where he conducted a grocery store. Then lived at 49 Brooklyn St. in the Village of Portville. Glen had been in Ill health for about 10 years. Step-daughter Ethel married Raymond Warren and she had three children, Mrs. Veronica (Mark) Johnson, Mrs. Therese (Richard) Monroe, Portville and Mrs. Vivian (Frank) Lilley, Rixford, PA. He had a brother, Hollie Acre, Jacksonville, Fl., one neice, Mrs. Leonard Legg, Buffalo, NY. Glen was a member of the Portville Vol. Fire Dept. and St Stepnen's Episcopal Church, Olean. Funeral was held at his home on July 6, 1946.
