Karen Marie (Davis) Flanagan
1943-2007
AMAZONIA, Mo. - Karen Marie (Davis) Flanagan, Amazonia, was surrounded by her loving family and went home to be with her Lord and family on Saturday, Feb. 24, 2007.
She was born Jan. 23, 1943, in Tarkio, Mo. to the late Orville and Delpha (Hughes) Davis. Karen married George Harvey Bressman Sr. and they later divorced. Karen then married David Flanagan May 18, 1999 at Amazonia. She was employed for 22 years at Mead Company, retiring in 2005. Karen was of the Christian Faith and had a great love for her family, grandchildren and her dog, "Bear." She enjoyed cooking, fishing, birds and gardening.
Her twin sisters, Beatrice and Bessie; and sister, Mary also preceded Karen in death.
Survivors: her loving husband, David Flanagan of the home; sons and daughter-in-laws, George Harvey Jr. and Kristin Bressman, Leavenworth, Kan.; Lloyd Edward Keith and Marla Bressman, Edgerton, Mo.; Brian Keith and Laura Bressman, Kansas City, Mo. and Andrew Flanagan, St. Joseph; daughters and sons-in-law, Theresa Bressman & Terry Turner, Amazonia; Kimberly Flanagan-Kelley and Antonio, Upper Heyford, England; brothers, William, St. Joseph; Reuben, Omaha, Neb.; sisters, Dorothy, Carol, Becky, all of St. Joseph and Linda of Missouri City, Mo.; 16 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Celebration of Life: 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 28, Gladden-Stamey Funeral Home. Inurnment of cremains will follow at St. John's Cemetery, Amazonia, Mo. Public visitation and family receiving hours will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
The family suggests memorials to American Cancer Society.
