Confederate States Army veteran & officer, 2nd Lieutenant, 8th Texas Light Artillery.

Married Martha Ellen Rigby on 11 September 1883 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Had two daughters, one named Alene.

(bio by Gerald Drew) - Coriolanus was the 3rd child of 5 children born to Edward Stevens Hopkins (1809-1887) and Mary Evelina Dufour (1814-1840). He married Ellen Taney in 1879 in Jacksonville, Florida and they had 7 children: Edward, Coriolanus Jr., Henry T., Alene, Monroe H., Rhea and Helen. He joined the Confederate Army at the start of the civil war as a Sergeant for the 8th Texas Field Battery (Texas Light Artillery)and left as a Second Lieutenant. His sister Mary Eveline was married to Henry Theodore Titus, who was the founder of Titusville, Florida. He is buried in the family plot at Evergreen Cemetery.
