George was born in Binghamton, New York. He fought in Europe during World War 1. On January 12, 1929, he married Marceline and they were happily married for over 40 years. In the 1930's, they built a bungalow on Barry Avenue in Elmwood Park where they raised their children and lived for the rest of their lives.
George was a proof reader for the Chicago Daily News. As such, he usually worked on the second shift in downtown Chicago.
In George's later years, Marcy converted to Catholicism in order to attend church with him at Saint Celestine Catholic Parish.
George enjoyed many family vacations that included the cottage at Long Lake, Colorado and many other places.
