Verla (Beahm) Price was born July 31, 1914, in the town of Marcellon, to Herbert and Susie (Fuller) Beahm. She was united in marriage to David O. Price of Cambria on Nov. 18, 1933. They farmed together with their three sons until 1957 when they moved to a small Marcellon farm. David died in July 1959. She cleaned homes and helped many friends and relatives, and was employed at Weyenburg Shoe Company until her retirement. Her unending energies flowed to her family, friends, and many elderly people. She loved to visit those in the nursing homes, play cards, and help with pickles and strawberries at the Price farm. She also enjoyed traveling widely. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Pardeeville, the Rebecca Lodge, and the American Legion Women's Auxiliary.
Funeral services will be held at the United Methodist Church, Pardeeville at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, March 22nd, with Pastor C. Keith Epps officiating. Visitation will be at Smith's Funeral home, Pardeeville, Wed., March 21st, from 4 to 8 P.M. and for one hour before the Thursday service at the church. Interment will be at the Marcellon Cemetery following the church service.
She is survived by her sons, James (Helen) Price, Poynette; Roger (Ida) Price, Pardeeville; and Pastor Stuart (Penny) Price, Poland, ME; ten grandchildren: Roxanne (Louis Hughes) Price, Brenda (Don) Franklin, Pamela (Chris) Williams, Carol Price Stuart, Kim (Jerry) Jochem, Ralph Price, Rodney (Kim) Price, David (Francine) Price, Temera (Jason) Cutliffe, and Robin (Rod) Cote. These marriages have blessed Verla with seven great grandchildren and a number of step-grandchildren. Her surviving brothers and sister are Juanita Carlson of Minneapolis, MN, Harley Beahm of Pardeeville, Beulah Hodgman of San Antonio, TX, Juene (Alvin) Kueffer of Portage, Doris Scott of Madison, Lawrence (Mary) Beahm of Montello, and Carolyn (Johnny) Tortolono of E. Greenwich, RI., many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and three brothers, Henry Christian, Norbert Earl, and Merlin Ralph, two sisters, Alma Carlson, and Dorothy Beahm.
Memorials may be made in her memory to the United Methodist Church, Pardeeville.
