Dennis F. Driscoll, age 71, died at his home west of Bernard at 2:00 o'clock Wednesday afternoon. He had been seriously ill for the past two months. The body is at the Devaney Funeral Home where friends may call after 7:00 o'clock this (Thursday) evening. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 o'clock Saturday to Sacred Heart Church, Fillmore. Interment will be made in the church cemetery nearby.

Mr. Driscoll was born November 8, 1878 in Prairie Creek township, near Bernard. a son of the late Dennis and Marie Byrne Driscoll. Agriculture early in life claimed Mr. Driscoll's attention and he devoted his entire life to that vocation.

On April 17, 1906, he was united in Holy Matrimony at St. Patick's Church, North Garryowen, to Miss Mercede Hardiman. To this union were born 7 children, 5 of whom, together with the wife, survive. They are: Mrs William (Marion) Wallace Bankston; Mrs. Leroy (Lavern) Dolphin, Cascade: Mrs. Paul (Cleone) Connolly, Cascade; Earl Driscoll, Dubuque; and Merlin, at home. Also surviving are 28 grandchildren; 5 sisters and 2 brothers -- Mrs. N. J. Hoffman. Mrs. W. B. Fagan, Cascade; Mrs. Ray Moran, Dubuque; Mrs. Fred Dietrich, Mrs. Lester Jordan, DeKalb, Ill.; William Driscoll, Cascade; Clem Driscoll, Dubuque.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 daughters and 2 brothers.
