August 11, 2010. Age 66, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side after a brief, courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Predeceased by his father Robert. Michael is survived by his loving wife Deborah of 33 years; daughters, Lisa (Steve) Banas and Lori Collinge; grandchildren, Steven Melville, Jessica Melville, Doug Collinge, Matthew Molis, Claire Collinge and Sarah Molis; brothers, Don (Diana) Melville and Ron Melville; nieces, nephew, cousins and many dear friends. Michael retired from Xerox Corporation in 2000 after 27 years of employment. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family as well as gardening, collecting antiques, and antique and classic cars. He was a devoted sportsman who loved hunting, fishing, and other outdoor activities. A member of the NRA, the Cadillac-LaSalle Club, Friends of the Hunley, and the Red Creek Conservation Club. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and many dear friends.
Michael has chosen to donate his remains to the Anthropology Research Facility at the University of Tennessee, aka, "the Body Farm"
