Mrs. Roxie Strong, aged 83, Rt. 3, Elizabeth, died Monday, November 22, in Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital, Parkersburg. She was born in Wirt County January 25, 1882, a daughter of the late Orville and Mary Timms Fought. She was a member of the Beulah Hill Presbyterian Church. Survivors include two sons, George H. Strong, of Akron, Ohio, and Okey Strong, Rt. 3 Elizabeth; two daughters, Mrs. Ruby Morrison of Williamstown and Mrs. Myrtle Hendershot of Parkersburg; a brother, Ed Fought, of Rt. 3 Elizabeth, eight grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. Mrs. Strong was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Strong, a son, Charles, and a daughter, Emma. Funeral services were conducted from the Pomroy Funeral Home Chapel Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 24, with the Rev. Maynard Kreider officiating.
