Funeral services for Otto Halme, 67, well known Ontonagon farmer, died at St. Joseph's Hospital, Hancock, Sunday Evening.
Mr. Halme who was born in Outulaan, Finland, January 28, 1882, came to this country when he was 18 years old, making his home in Calumet.
He was married to Mary Johte in Calumet, Oct. 28, 1906. Mr. & Mrs. Halme moved to their farm in Ontonagon in 1911.
During the many years Mr. Halme spent in Ontonagon, he became prominent in community activities. He was president of the Federal Land Bank Association for this district, a member of the Ontonagon Cooperative board of directors, a member of the board of directors of the Rural Electrification Assoc. and an active member of the Apostolic Lutheran Church.
The body will be at the Allen Cane Funeral Home until Thursday at which time it will be taken home.
Funeral Services held at the family home and at the Presbyterian Church in Ontonagon with Rev. Waino Karvinen officiating. Burial at the Riverside Cemetery.
Mr.Halme is survived by his wife, 4 daughters, Mrs. Walter Hall, Mrs. Jack Roberts, Mrs. Harmon Hollenbacker, all of Detroit, Norma, Ontonagon, and 5 sons Ernest, Wilho, Raymond, & Kenneth all of Ontonagon, Russell of Detroit and a sister living in Finland.
