Joseph C. Kroeger was pronounced dead at LSU Hospital in Shreveport, where he had been taken after he was found shot in his lower torso just before 4 a.m. Friday in the 5700 block of South Lakeshore Drive.
Kroeger was one of two adult males in a vehicle there, according to a Shreveport police release. Investigators believe he was shot during a drug deal that had gone badly in the Queensborough neighborhood.
Investigators identified 19-year-old Anthony T. Lee of Shreveport as their suspect, and secured a warrant charging him with one count of second-degree murder. Lee surrendered to authorities at the Shreveport Police complex late Friday.
