Anne Mae Barr Ayscue, age 102, passed away June 9, 2010. A graveside service will be performed in Woodridge Memorial Park at 11 a.m. Friday, June 11, 2010. Officiating will be the Rev. Roland Watterson. A brief visitation will be held prior to service from 10-10:30 a.m. at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington . Memorials may be made to Pineview Baptist Church, 3010 Leaphart Road, West Columbia, SC 29169.

Mrs. Ayscue was born May 27, 1908, in Monroe, N.C., the daughter of the late Stephen Franklin Barr and Rose Anne Helms Barr.

Mrs. Ayscue was predeceased by her late husband, William Laney Ayscue of Monroe, N.C., and her only child, Penelope Allison Skipper and her son-in-law, Larry Van Skipper Sr. Surviving are her two grandsons, Larry Van Skipper Jr. and Barry Keith Skipper, and four great-grandchildren, Kayla and Ashley Skipper of Lexington, S.C., and Allison and Harrison Skipper of Aiken, S.C.

Mrs. Ayscue graduated from Union High School in Union County, N.C. She was an enterprising businesswoman in North Carolina and moved to Columbia, S.C., in 1949. She was affiliated with Powell Furniture Company for many years.

Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington will be in charge of arrangements.
