MIDDLETOWN -
Julia Ann (Hall) Romine 80, passed away quietly to be with the Lord Sept. 3, 2004, at St. John's Medical Center in Anderson.
Julia was born May 18, 1924, in Middletown, and resided there most of her life. She was the daughter of Arthur and Blanche (Fletcher) Hall. She married Malcolm E. Romine in 1940. He passed away in 1970.
She attended Middletown High School and the Eastside House of Prayer in Anderson. She owned and operated "Romine Aquarium Store" in Middletown, then worked for several aquarium stores in Anderson before leaving Indiana to Lawton, Okla., to set up an aquarium department for Kmart. She also worked at the Middletown Nursing Home and Middletown Schools.
Survivors include three sons, Larry (Mary) Romine of Middletown, Mike (Diane) Romine of Florida, and Terry (Anita) Romine of Illinois; two daughters, Joy Romine of Middletown and Candace S. Carpenter (fiance', Jerry Hines) of Anderson; 14 grandchildren; 14 great- grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; a brother, Roy E. (Betty) Hall of Muncie; a sister, Lora P. Gift of Middletown; and two sister-in-laws. Phyllis Hall of Muncie and Cecil Hall of Middletown.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; two brothers, Otto D. Hall and Arthur J. Hall; a sister, Dora L. Mattox; a granddaughter, Brenda K. Romine; and great-granddaughter, Megan H. Tyler.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 S. Fifth St., Middletown, with Pastor David Whitteberry and Pastor Kevin Tharp officiating. Burial will follow in Miller Cemetery, Middletown.
Visitation will be 3 to 9 p.m. Monday and one hour before services Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Eastside House of Prayer in Anderson.
