Veteran of the Civil War. Henry was a resident of Allamakee Co, IA when he enlisted in Co K 4th Iowa Cavalry on 14 Mar 1864 at the age of 18 years. He mustered out 8 Aug 1865 at Atlanta, GA.

Henry was the last living member of JF Reynolds Post #26. He died at the age of 89 years.

Henry L. Bond, a veteran of the Civil war, died at 6:10 o'clock this morning, in the Pershing hospital at the Soldiers' Home, following a long illness. A heart ailment, which required hospitalization for many months, was the cause of death. The deceased was born Feb. 26, 1847, in Cattaraugus county, New York, and served as a private in Co. K, Fourth Iowa cavalry from Mar. 14, 1864, until Aug. 8, 1865. He was admitted to membership in the Soldiers' Home from Osceola, Nebr., Sept. 10, 1934. A son-in-law, C. E. Ware, residing at Osceola, is the only know survivor. The body was taken to Osceola for funeral service and burial.
