The info on his tombstone is incorrect. Here is his obituary from "The Call-Leader," Elwood, IN, Monday, 10 Sep 1951 issue:
Obituary: "The Call-Leader," Elwood, IN, Monday, 10 Sep 1951 issue --
"Succumbs Sunday; Funeral Tuesday. William H. Heater, 74, 1907 North D street, died Sunday morning at 11:45 o'clock following an illness of six years. Born in Howard County, Sept. 19, 1876, he was the son of John and Sarah Heater. He was married to Elizabeth Schneider, Jan. 23, 1899. Mr. Heater was a member of Evangelical United Brethren church. Survivors include the widow, two daughters, Mrs. Grace Ebert and Miss Goldie Heater of Elwood; a son, Dale Heater of Chicago and six grandchildren. The body is at Copher and Fesler funeral home where friends may call. Funeral rites will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Church of the Nazarene. The Rev. Floyd Goins will officiate. Burial will be made in Forrestville cemetery."
