Funeral services were conducted in the Fletcher Assembly of God church at 3 o'clock Saturday afternoon by Rev. Gilbert, Assembly of God minister from Chickasha. Interment was made in the Fletcher cemetery with the Wisener funeral home in charge.
Rev. Yoder was born April 10, 1883 at Nashville. Indiana. leaving his native state in 1900 and coming to Oklahoma. locating at Pauls Valley.
On Nov. 29. 1903 he was untited in marriage at Pauls Valley with Miss Deloris Woodard and to this union were born seven sons. One son, Claude, died Sept, 17, 1908, at Washington, Okla.
He is survived by his wife and six sons. Calvin of Elgin, Orville of Shawnee, Ira of Fletcher, Andrew of Elgin, Leonard of Fletcher and Virgil of Peoria, Ill.
Among other relatives living are seven brothers, John of Chickasha, David, Edward and Ernest, all of Clovis, N. M., Albert, Raymond and Fred, all of Minco; four sisters, Mrs. Annie Groves of Chickasha. Mrs. Mary Edmonson of Muleshoe, Texas, Mrs. Gertrude Downey and Gracie, both of Texico, N. M.; 13 grandchildren, Clifford, Joe Paul, Esther, Norma Lee, Kenneth, R. D., Burl, Euretha, Thomas, Ronnie, Delora, Barbara and Carolyn Yoder.
In 1920 the family moved to Minco and remained in that vicinity until 1934, when they moved to Fletcher and had resided here since, with the exception of two years in Arizona because of his health.
He united with the assembly of God church in 1925 and had devoted part of his time to the ministry. For some time he served as vastor of the Sterling Assembly of God church.
Last September he and his wife went to New Mexico for the benefit of his health, as he was troubled with asthma. His wife could not stand the high altitude there so two months later both returned to Fletcher but he could not stand the climate here. He returned to New Mexico while she remained here. He returned here on Sunday, four days before he died, for a short visit and the fatal attack came without warning.
