Dr. John W. Ansley was a son of Ozias Ansley (1783-1827) and Mary Lake, dau. of Joseph and Mary (-) Lake. He was a physician attached to the U. S. Quarantine Service on Staten Island and is said to have lost his life in an epidemic of fever contracted in his duty. He m. Margaret Barnes, daughter of John and Margaret (-) Barnes. Margaret died 20 Feb. 1895, age 79-7-13.
