OBITUARY: Mr. Hollin Gray "Howard" Sprinkle, 78, of Statesville, died Monday, March 15, 2004 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. He was born October 15, 1925 in Carroll County, Virginia to Colie and Lelia Golding Sprinkle. Mr. Sprinkle was retired from the City of Winston-Salem as a TransAid driver. He was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Celia Richardson. Surviving are his wife, Helen Maynard Sprinkle of the home; three sons, Dewey Sprinkle and wife, Valerie, of Supply, John Sprinkle and wife, Teresa, of Winston-Salem and Jimmy Sprinkle; a brother, Lonnie Sprinkle and wife, Beauna, of Winston-Salem; two sisters, Callie Burge and husband, J. D., of Winston-Salem and Pauline DeHart and husband, Elvin, of Supply; two stepsons, David Maynard and Tommy Maynard and wife, Alice, all of Statesville; nine grandchildren, Tonya, Lonnie, John, Crystal, Josh, Christina, Tabitha, Brittany and James. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with the Rev. Ronnie Millsaps officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
