Larry Dean Western, 59, of Boulder Drive, died at 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 14, 2010, at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.

Mr. Western formerly owned Western Trucking Inc. and was a Marine Corps veteran.

He was of the Christian faith and enjoyed mushroom hunting, fishing, NASCAR, horses and the outdoors. His children were the most important thing in his life.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Eli Johnson officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 a.m. until service time Thursday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the Larry Dean Western Memorial Fund.

Born in Columbus Nov. 16, 1950, Mr. Western was the son of Carl and Irene Hatcher Western.

Survivors include his mother, of Columbus; a son, Larry Dean Western of Columbus; daughters, Celia Western of Columbus and Mary Jane (Charles) Hayes of North Vernon; grandchildren, Logan Henderson, Nathaniel Pedigo, Kaitlyn, Michael and Charles Hayes, and another grandchild expected to arrive later this year; a great-grandchild. Andreu Estill; a brother, William Western of Columbus; and a sister, Delma Olds of Columbus.

He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Carl Wayne Western.
