"ASPDEN - On December 23, 1899, Susan T., widow of James Aspden, in her 84th year. The relatives and friends of the family are respectfully invited to attend the funeral services, on Thursday afternoon, December 28, at 1 o'clock, at her son's (Mr. Charles H. Aspden) residence, No. 275 Chestnut street, Camden, N. J. Interment private at Evergreen Cemetery."
Susan Aspden bought the cemetery lot 25 April 1888 for $20.
The cemetery records call her aged 84 at the time of death, thus born about 1815. At the time of the 1880 census she is listed as 60 years old, thus born 1820, which is more in keeping with the age of her husband. At the time of the 1870 census, they lived Third Ward, Orange. Essex, NJ and she was called aged 45, thus born about 1825.
