Lorene Viola Hills Albion Lorene Viola Hills, 85, of Albion, passed away on Sunday, August 15, 2010 at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo. She was born June 4, 1925 in Quincy Michigan to Ehrl and Isabelle (Merrifield) Crandall. On April 26, 1942 she married Cecil W. Hills in Coldwater, Michigan. He preceded her in death May 7, 1993. Lorene lived in the area for most of her life and was a homemaker. She also babysat children for several years. She was a member of Southern United Baptist Church. Lorene enjoyed sewing, crosswords and word search puzzles, Bingo and watching her soaps and game shows. She is survived by 3 sons, Wayne (Carol) Hills of Hommassa, FL, William (Bonna) Hills of Battle Creek, Ricky (Mary) Hills of East LeRoy; 3 daughters, Leota Greathouse of Homer, Gloria (Jr) D'Water of Marshall, Lorrie (Steve) Mulkey of Albion; 22 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by six brothers; five sisters; one son, Larry Hills; grandson, Gary; and one great granddaughter, Cara. Funeral Service will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, August 20, 2010, at J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, 208 West Erie St, Albion, with Rev. Jim Snyder officiating. Interment will follow at Albion Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Thursday, August 19, from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
