Samuel Price Eads was born in Maries County May 30, 1862 and departed
this life 2 July 1938 in Alton, Illinois. He was married to Miss Retta
Courtright and to this union five children were born, one son preceding
him in death several years ago. Besides his wife he is survived by four
children: Otis Eads, Mrs. Wm. Douglas, Miss Gertrude Eads and Elbert
Eads, 4 grandchildren and three great grand children all of Granite City,
Illinois. Two brothers Marion of Springfield and Gus of Vienna, and two
sisters Mrs. Angie Keeney of Vienna and Mrs. George Bassett of New Mexico
also survive.
Funeral service was conducted by Rev. E. E. Baur at the Dixon Funeral
Home Monday and burial was in the Dixon cemetery under the direction of
Undertaker F. H. Gilbert..
