Kathryn Ann Thompson was born to Johnnie Beven and Ivy Edith (Overton) Thompson on 16 Mar 1949 at Visalia, California. She was the second oldest of 12 children: Wanda, Marvin, Ellen, Judy, Brenda, Karen, Sharon, Cheryl, Sherry, Pamela, John, and Linda.

Her family moved to Surprise, Arizona in 1958 where Kathy began fourth grade at Dysart School, graduating from Dysart High School in May 1967. Three months after high school graduation she married William James Dickinson on 1 Sep 1967.

Kathy and Bill had three daughters, Laura, Kristina and Rachel.

They moved their family to Key West, Florida in 1975 in order to serve the Cuban community there as missionaries. In 1977 they moved to Gravette, Arkansas to serve at the Holiness Bible School there.

She and Bill lived in Overland Park, Kansas at the time of her death after a liver transplant at the Nebraska Medical Center Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska. She is buried next to her parents.

Kathy was a good Christian woman who loved serving others. She contracted Hepatitis C from a blood transfusion necessary to save her life after her second child was born in 1971. The virus remained unknown in her body until she was in her 50s when it began causing the liver disease which ultimately led to her death.
