Graveside services for Martha Lemons, were held Saturday, July 8, 2000, at South Park Cemetery. Elton Dibeck of Country Club Road Church of Christ conducted the service.

Martha Lemons, 78, of Roswell passed away July 6, 2000, at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center.

Martha was born January 4, 1922 in Fort Worth, Texas, to H.E. and Martha Jane (Elkins) Wilkerson.

She married Horace Alvin Lemons on June 30, 1966, in Carrizozo, New Mexico. Horace passed away in 1991.

Martha was also preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Ernest Wilkerson; a sister, Helen Coble; grandson, Dusty Hobbs; and a son-in-law, Jim Crosby.

Survivors include three daughters; Caroline Sue Hobbs and her husband Doyle, of Roswell, New Mexico, Barbara Ann Crosby of Duncan, Arizona, and Lunell Kay Gilley and her husband Gary, of Vista, California.

She is also survived by five brothers; Jack Wilkerson, of Roswell, New Mexico, Burl Wilkerson of Houston, Texas, Ronald Wilkerson of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Donald Wilkerson of Duncan, Arizona, Bob Wilkerson of Honduras, Central America.

She is also survived by a sister, Erma Nell Herring of Roswell; a step-daughter, Jo Jean of Fort Worth, Texas; step-son, Jack Lemons of Lake Conches; nine grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Lemons had been a resident of Roswell, New Mexico since 1926 and was a member of the Country Club Road Church of Christ. She taught Music and guitar for 35 years.
