DIED
William J. Clark was born in Adams county, Ill., October 18, 1839, and died at his home three miles east of Tobias, May 12th, 1902. He was married to Elizabeth Davis in August 1868. To this union was born six children, five of whom are still living, the oldest having died in infancy. Mr. Clark was an old soldier, having served three years during the war of the Rebellion in Co. H, Twenty-fifth regiment Iowa volunteer infantry, and was honorably discharged at the expiration of his term of service. Mr. Clark had lived on the farm on which he died for the past nine years and was highly respected by all who knew him. The funeral and burial took place at Atlanta Center. Elders Trace, of Dorchester, and Horney, of this place, officiating.
