MATHEWS- James(sic) Elmo Godsey, 83, of Gwynn, died at Horn Harbor Nursing Home Thursday Dec. 25, after a period of declining health.
He was a member of Gwynn's Island Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Louis Jagger, of Port Haywood; one son, John Elmo Godsey, Jr., of Baltimore, Md.; one sister, Mrs. Elmer Callis, of Gwynn, and four grandchildren.
A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 28 at Foster Funeral Home, Mathews, conducted by the Rev. Louis Broughman.
Burial was in Gwynn's Island Cemetery. Pallbearers were Sleet Godsey, Bud Godsey, Kermit Godsey, Clarence W. Collier, Vernon Moody and Charles Russell Ward.
