TUCKER, Adelia B., d. 15 November 1854; wife of Rev. J.C. Tucker

At 21 years of age, and with a date of death of 1854 (as suggested by the Iowa WPA graves project) places her birth at 1833/34. Since she is buried here with much of the rest of the Williams clan, I assume that this is Adelia daughter of Wright Williams (son of Robert). However I have no other information to tell me that she married anyone named Tucker, so this is purely speculation.

Since creating this memorial page, I have been notified of the burial of J.C. Tucker in Mahaska County Iowa. Looking through old books about Mahaska County, I found the following bio for James Calvin Tucker:
SOURCE: "Portrait & Biographical Album of Mahaska Co., Iowa" (published 1887)
(i)"JOHN C. TUCKER, of Monroe Township, is a son of James H. and Margaret (Sterling) Tucker, and was born in Owen County, Ky., Nov. 13, 1824. His father died in 1857, and his mother in 1885. He came to Iowa in 1839, located in Louisa County, near Muscatine, resided there until 1857, and then came to this county and settled in Monroe Township. He was united in marriage with Miss Della Williams, a native of Indiana, Aug. 9, 1854. After a short period of happy married life she died, Oct. 7, 1855." (/i) (text continues)
NOTES: The dates for the marriage disagree with the information shown in Louisa County Records. The date of death is different than the information known to the descendants, differs from the date recorded by the WPA Graves project, and seems to be different from what can be seen on the very eroded stone.
