HARTSELLE — Funeral for Jessie B. Cook, 72, of Somerville will be Thursday at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home with the Rev. Ron Young and the Rev. Janice Hill officiating.
Burial will be in Burningtree Memorial Garden with U.S. Air Force honors. The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the funeral home.
Mr. Cook died Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2003, at Marion Regional Medical Center in Hamilton. He was born Feb. 4, 1931, in Morgan County to Van Samuel Cook and Bertie Artist Cook. He was a prisoner of war during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Somerville United Methodist Church and a former member of the Somerville Masonic Lodge. He was the brother of the late Pocohontas Breeding.
Survivors include two sons, John W. Cook of Priceville and Jesse Dwain Cook of Tuscumbia; five daughters, Pamela Allen of Kingsland, Ga., Cynthia Green and Lela Tolbert, both of Somerville, and Sonia Harper and Tracy Wilson, both of Fayetteville, Tenn.; one brother, James Patterson of Brooksville; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Members of the U.S. Air Force will be pallbearers.
Grandsons, nephews and a friend will be honorary pallbearers.
