LOGAN W. BIELAR OF MERIDIAN DIES

Funeral services will be held at 10 A.M. tomorrow in McNary-Moore Chapel for Logan William Bielar, 68, of Meridian who died Friday afternoon in Martinez Veterans Hospital after a long illness.
Bielar, a resident of this area all of his life, had lived in Meridian since 1923. He had been employed as a meat cutter at the Meridian Meat Company, operated by Weinrich Brothers, for many years.
He was a World War I veteran and a member of Yuba City Post No. 2563, Veterans of Foreign Wars.
In the late 1920's and early '30's "Loge" -- as he was known to his many friends -- and his brother Elster both played football for Willows and Colusa town teams. They had also been high school football stars at the end positions.
"Loge" was born December 14, 1899, in Willows, attended schools and spent his early life there.
He is survived by his wife, Mamie, of Meridian; daughter, Marilyn Fickett of Walnut Creek; brothers, Elster of Sacramento and Charles Bielar of Paradise; sister, Mrs. Charlotte Troxel of Marysville, and four grandchildren. – Transcribed by E.
