Pauline Dunning, 92, a lifelong resident of Doniphan, Missouri, died Thursday, August 19, 2010, at the Charlevoix Healthcare Center in St. Charles, Missouri.

Mrs. Dunning was born September 9, 1917, south of Doniphan, Missouri. On October 19, 1935, she was married to Eulis Dunning at Corning, Arkansas. He preceded her in death on September 7, 1994. Mrs. Dunning was a well-known local artist, and will be remembered by her family and friends for her beautiful paintings, as well as for her encouragement and support of local artists. She loved to square dance, quilt, sew, and cook.

Mrs. Dunning is survived by two daughters, Shirley Glasgow of Morgan, Texas, and Carolyn Slattery of St. Charles, Missouri; one brother, Gilbert Shirley and wife Georgia of Knoxville, Illinois; one brother-in-law, William Arthur Dunning and wife Ruth of Mesa, Arizona; and one son-in-law, James Gore of Poplar Bluff, Missouri. She is also survived by grandchildren Robert Glasgow, Sandy Hyde, Tami Hattaway, Sophia Lincoln, Rhonda Harris, Sherry Burton, Kristen Oloteo, Patti Warden, and Steve Edwards; fourteen great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by her parents, Lige and Molly Gordon Shirley; one daughter, Barbara Gore, two sisters, Virgie Brown, and Agnes Crewes; two brothers, Everett Shirley and Delbert Shirley; and two sons-in-law, Bob Glasgow and John Slattery.
Burial will be in the Pope Chapel Cemetery.
