Joseph Baird, son of John and Elizabeth [née Warden] Baird, was born in Ireland on the 10th day of May 1803. At the age of seventeen, Joseph, along with his parents and siblings, immigrated through Charlestown to settled first in Chester County, South Carolina.
There Joseph met and married Miss Jennet Wilson, daughter of Alexander and Martha Wilson in 1830. Joseph and Jennet had eight known children:
