89, of Galesburg, Ill., died at 3:50 p.m. Saturday August 21, 2010 at her daughter-in-law's home in Galesburg.
She was born April 18, 1921 in Dixon, Ill. the daughter of Joseph and Santa Marie Vullo Dibuono. She married Leonard B. Commean on April 22, 1939 in Peoria, Ill. They were married 57 years. They moved to Galesburg from Peoria in 1940.
Helen and her husband owned and operated Peerless Window Cleaning for 50 years. She was a great influence on her family. She loved her family dearly and enjoyed them along with gardening, auctions, antiques and playing cards. She will be greatly missed by many people as she accepted everyone as her extended family. She was a member of St. Patrick's Church.
Surviving is one daughter, Linda S. Nelson and two daughters-in-law, Terri and Joyce Commean, all of Galesburg. Twelve grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild, two step grandchildren and many nieces and nephews, two sisters, Rose (Joe) Dantone of Peoria and Gloria (Anthony) Tedeschi of Kansas City, Mo.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Leonard, two sons, Bruce "Butch" Commean and Leonard "Bud" Commean, her parents, three brothers and one sister.
Funeral Mass is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. The Rev. William Miller will officiate. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Prayers will be prayed at 7 p.m.. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens.
