L.W. Douglas, Aged 69, Dies at Nind Home-- In Impaired Health Several Years: Funeral Monday

Leroy Weston Douglas, 69 years old died about 4 o'clock yesterday afternoon at his home in Nind. He had been in ill health a number of years and suffered a stroke of paralysis Friday.

Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon at the Dee Riley Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. L.V. Freeman. Burial will be at the Pratt Cemetery. Five sons and one son-in-law, O.C. Simmons, will be pallbearers.

Mr. Douglas lived most of his life in Adair County and had lived at Nind about 24 years.

Mr. Douglas was born Nov. 13, 1871 near Pure Air. He married Miss Laura E. Smith.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs Laura E. Douglas, five sons and four daughters, Mrs R.O. Yowell and Mrs Reggie Cooley, both of Kirksville; Mrs O.C. Simmons, Osgood; Mrs Earl Barnett, nind; W.L. Douglas West Branch, Ia; George Douglas, Brashear; Leonard Douglas, Pure Air, Charles and [illegible]), Nind; two sisters. Mrs Mina Novinger, Novinger; and Mirs Beulah Pinkerton, Santa Barbara, CA; two brothers. Albert and C.E. Boen of near Pure Air; twenty grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
