He married Linda Porter in Las Vegas, NV on May 4, 1990. Colin worked for the Rockford Police Department for 28 years, before retiring as a Sgt. in 1993. After retiring from the Police Department, he spent his time running his own business - Tappers Unlimited for many years. Colin was a loving husband, father, brother and grandpa and a great friend to everyone that he met. He will be deeply missed by all. Colin enjoyed golfing as much as possible, vacationing to Las Vegas, boating on the Rock River, spending time with his grandchildren, meeting friends daily at the Lombardi Club and was a huge Green Bay Packer fan.
He was a veteran of the Army, serving as Military Police in Company K. Member of Grace Lutheran Church. Other memberships include the Lombardi Club, Venetian Club, SM and SF, Vasa Club, American Legion, Moose Club, The IPA and the Retired Officers Association.
Survivors include his Wife Linda, Children, Kimberley Anderson and Michael Anderson, both of California, Andrea (Carl) Akerlund of Roscoe, Grandchildren, Gavin and Ella Akerlund, Brothers, Paul (Ruth) Anderson and Dean (Jan) Anderson, numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents.
Memorial service will be at 10 am, Wednesday, August 25, 2010 in Grace Lutheran Church 343 Grand Ave. Loves Park, with entombment in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Memorial visitation from 8:30 am until time of service in the church.
