Frankston - Jim Folmar, 71, of Frankston, died Wednesday morning in a Tyler hospital following a brief illness.

Funeral arrangements are pending with Thompson Funeral Home of Frankston.

Mr. Folmar was a retired employee of Precinct 3 in Anderson County and was a member of Frankston Assembly of God Church.

Survivors include his wife, Vivian Dunn Folmar of Frankston; four daughters and sons-in-law, Diane and Wayne Phillips, Linda and Robert Tidmore, Judy and James Tidmore and Gail and Elmer Birdwell of Frankston; three brothers, Delbert Folmar of Palestine, Winnifred Folmar of Whitehouse and archie Folmar of Jacksonville; one sister, Nixie McMillan of Tyler; his mother-in-law, Lena Dunn, of Frankston; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Jim Folmar, 71, Frankston, were held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 14, at Frankston Assembly of God Church with Revs. J.A. Griffin, Paul Eaton and George Folmar officiating.

Michael Tidmore, a grandson, gave the eulogy. Pianist was Ann Maxwell. Singers were Marc Hoffman, Grover Talbert and Jerry Stanger.

Burial was in Frankston City Cemetery under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home in Frankston.

Mr. Folmar died Wednesday, May 13, in a Tyler hospital. He was born June 3, 1921, in Frankston and was a life long resident.

Mr. Folmar was a retired employee of Anderson County Precinct No. 3.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Shannon Phillips.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Mrs. Vivian (Dunn) Folmar of Frankston; four daughters and a sons-in-law, Diane and Wayne Phillips, Gail and Elmer Birdwell, Linda and Robert Tidmore, Judy and James Tidmore, all of Frankston; three brothers, Delbert Folmar of Palestine, Winifred Folmar of Whitehouse, and Archie Folmar of Jacksonville; one sister, Nixie McMillan of Tyler; mother-in-law, Lena Dunn of Frankston; grandchildren, Rusty and Susan Phillips, John and Cory Newman, Bryant Tidmore, Michael Tidmore, Robin Tidmore, Raeanne Tidmore, Brenda Birdwell and Amber Birdwell; great-grandchildren, Paige Phillips, Blake Phillips, Russell Phillips, J.R. Newman and Logan Newman; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbeaers were Herbert Riley, Marsh Billingely, Billy Bacon, Paul Phillips, Charles Dickerson, Earl Lang, Johnny Hardman and Oneal Smith.

Honorary pallbearers were Pete Westbrook, Jesse Smith, Sr., Jeff Austin, Sr., and the Men's Bible Class at Frankston Assembly of God.
