He was born June 29, 1913 in the Township of Seneca, the son of Fredrick and Anna Wiese Alf.
On November 26, 1936, he was united in marriage to Luella
Wobschall at St. Paul Lutheran Church at Fairburn.
Arden was a life-long farmer. He was a member of St. Paul
Lutheran Church at Fairburn.
He was survived by his daughter, Delores (Arnold) Sumter; three grandchildren, Jill Sharkey, Bruce (Debora) Sumter and Craig Sumter; and two great-granddaughters, Morgan Sumter and Skylar Sharkey; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Luella, on November 1, 2006; his son, Eugene, on October 7, 2006; and his brothers, Carl, Elmer, and Walter Alf.
Funeral services were held Friday, April 10, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church at Fairburn, the Rev. Gregory Sluke officiating. Interment was in Oakwood Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to Barbola Funeral Chapel of Berlin.
