Anna Frances (Storms) Whitman was born in Virginia on May 30, 1788. She was well known as a midwife in both Southern Indiana and Clay Co., Illinois. Along with her husband, she came to Songer Twp., Clay Co., Illinois about 1859 with the family of her youngest son James. She died at the age of 87 on August 21, 1875, and is buried along with her husband and many of their descendants in the Songer/Walker Cemetery.
