Funeral services for Harry Knight McDaniel, former Lewis Countian, who died in a Flint, Michigan, hospital Tuesday, June 8, were held at the Dyer Funeral Home in Holly, Michigan Friday, June 6, with the Rev. Lewis Sutton, pastor of the Calvary Methodist Church of Holly, in charge. Burial was in Lakeside Cemetery. Mr. McDaniel was born on January 20, 1912, in Lewis County, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jeptha McDaniel. He was graduated from the Canton High School, and obtained his technical training at General Motors Tech in Flint. He moved to Holly in 1938 and started a small welding shop which later became the McDaniel Tank Manufacturing Company. The business expanded rapidly with the addition of new lines including underground and above ground ..., dust collectors and other .... fabricated products. Products .... shipped to many of the nation's ....est industrial firms. Mr. McDaniel was interested in .... affairs in Holly, and served several terms as village trustee. He was a member of the Methodist Church, the Holly Kiwanies Club, .... Board of Commerce and Masonic Lodge. He was an avid .... experienced flyer, owning and ....ing his own plane which he .... for business and pleasure. Survivora include his wife; three daughters, Nettie Lee Rickerman of Detroit, Jean McDaniel of Detroit, and Sister Harold Marie (Dorothy) McDaniel; three sons, George, Gerald, and Harold McDaniel, at home; his mother, Mrs. Nettie McDaniel of Holly; a sister, Marilyn, of Holly; and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his father; a brother, Allan McDaniel, who was killed in World War II; and a sister, Eileen, who died in infancy.
