John E. Kerr, a prominent and well-known Stanislaus county farmer, died Saturday morning last from the effects of injuries received from a fall off the tower of a windmill six miles north of Modesto. A strong wind endangered the windmill, and Kerr went up a distance of twenty feet to adjust it. His prolonged absence from the house caused a search for him, and he was found unconscious. He lingered several hours in a semi-conscious state.
The deceased was aged 69 years, and was a great uncle to Mrs. J. C. Landram and Max and Hugh Landram, of this city.
