Dewey T. "Dude" Dixon, age 57 of Maryville died Tuesday, April 6, 1999 at home. He was a member of Old Piney Grove Baptist Church. Preceded in death by: parents, Dewey T. Dixon Sr. and Naomi Lee Dixon; brother, Robert Dixon; sister, Joyce Dixon.
Survivors include: daughters and sons-in-law, Naomi and Richard Hackler of Maryville and Dewia Johnia and Charles Quillen of Friendsville; grandchildren, Savannah Elaine Hackler, Nathan Dixon and Charlie Quillen; brothers, Walter "Jerry" Dixon and Steve Dixon, both of Louisville; sisters, Mona Cupp of Macon, Ga., Juanita Nuchols and Deborah Dixon, both of Maryville; uncle, Carl Lee of Maryville; ex-wife, Anna Joe Teffeteller; special cousin, Wynona Miller; special friends, Bill Russell, Don Myers, Norma Keeble, Bill Ethridge; several nieces and nephews; grandnieces and nephews; and aunts and uncles.
Funeral services will be at 8 p.m. Saturday, April 10, 1999 at Smith Mortuary with the Rev. Obie Campbell and the Rev. Scott Campbell officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 11, 1999 at Dotson Memorial Cemetery for the interment. Family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Saturday, April 10, 1999, Smith Mortuary, Maryville.
