Charles William Caldwell, of 109 Owens Drive, died Saturday, August 21, 2010 at his home. Born January 22, 1930 in Spartanburg County, he was the son of the late Alford V. and Melissa Hughes Caldwell. He was retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad as a conductor, a veteran of the U.S. Navy, and a member of Bethel Assembly of God.

In addition to his wife, Frederika Vaughn Caldwell, he is survived by two sisters, Pearl Morris and Ruby Morris, both of Woodruff; a sister-in-law, Martha Westbrook of the home; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Charlie Caldwell.

Graveside services will be at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, August 25, 2010, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, conducted by the Rev. Barry Shepps and the Rev. Steve Brown.
