ALBERT — Barbara J. Boggs, 80, died Aug. 22 at Central Kansas Medical Center, Great Bend. She was born Oct. 25, 1929, at Sutherland, Iowa, the daughter of Columbus and Carrie (Archer) Brown. She married Thomas W. Boggs on July 14, 1951, at Mason City, Iowa. He died Dec. 31, 2005. Mrs. Boggs was a homemaker and a resident of Albert since May 2009, moving from Apache Junction, Ariz., and formerly of Hesston.

Survivors include two daughters, Robin Lies and husband David, of Albert, and Kimberly Lally and husband Mike, of Newton; eight grandchildren, one great-granddaughter and two stepgrandchildren; a son-in-law, James Schares of Mesa, Ariz.; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Brown of Mason City, Iowa; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one son, Stephen Thomas; one daughter, Debra Schares; three brothers, James, Robert and Jack Brown; and two sisters, Mary Ellen Johnson and Grace Hitzhusen.

There will be no visitation, as cremation has taken place. Inurnment will occur at Greenwood Cemetery, Cedar Falls, Iowa, at a later date.
