The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. today, Fri., Dec. 17; from 29 p.m. on Sat., Dec. 18; and after 11 a.m. on Sunday, at the funeral home, all three days.
Mr. Townsend died on Thurs., Dec. 16, 2004, in Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
He was born on Oct. 10, 1936, in Bowen, Ky., to the late William and Edna Hudson Townsend.
He was a self=employed heavy equipment operator. Mr. Townsend was also an avid fisherman.
His family includes his wife, Ruby Herron Townsend of Cookeville; three sons and daughters-in-law, Robert D. Jr. and Carrie Townsend, James William and Karen Townsend, and Scott Wayne and Pam Townsend, all of Peru, Ind.; two step-daughters, Debra Dunn and Sheila Whited, both of Cookeville; three step-sons, Danny, Darrell and Scott Church, all of Cookeville; two sisters, Helena White of Peru, and Fay Jones of Monticello, Ind.; three brothers, George Townsend of Peru, Jay Townsend of Monroe, Ga., and
Ray Reed of Mt. Sterling, Ky.; a granddaughter, Kimberly Ann Townsend; 12 step-grandchildren; and eight step-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Hobert and Harold Dunn Jr., Darrell and Scott Church, Bill Shanks and Robert
Townsend Jr.
Pastor Gary Davis will officiate at the services.
