WEST POINT - Paul H. Blakeley, 85, died Friday, Nov. 21, 2003, at his home in West Point. He was born in Fairfield, Texas, to the late Margaret Virginia Red and John Addison Blakeley. He came to West Point in 1943. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He was a member of the West Point Rotary Club and a Paul Harris Fellow. He was an active member and deacon of the First Baptist Church. He was the owner of Blakeley Beauty Salon for 30 years.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dale Funderburg officiating. Burial will be in Shepherd Baptist Cemetery in Fayette County, Ala.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Freeman Blakeley of West Point, whom he married Dec. 23, 1943; a sister, Wilma Blakeley Morris of Fairfield, Texas; a brother, Clyde Blakeley of Lubbock, Texas; a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Pallbearers will be James Taylor, Jim Taylor, Dr. Jeffery Taylor, Dr. Edwin Freeman, Paul Freeman Jr. and David Paul Freeman.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to service time Sunday.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 794, West Point MS 39773.
